Meet Edina Stella, M.Ed., LMSW

Therapist

Edina Stella, M.Ed., LMSW, earned her Master of Social Work from Lehman College, her Master of Educational Psychology from Temple University, and her undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Business from Pennsylvania State University. Her postgraduate training includes Trauma Systems Therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Edina works with high-functioning adults, professionals, executives, and young adults navigating the pressures that often accompany achievement. Her clients may be highly successful in their careers and personal lives while privately struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, overthinking, relationship concerns, career decisions, burnout, competing responsibilities, or questions about what they want from the next stage of their lives.

Edina brings a distinctive combination of clinical expertise, organizational leadership experience, and business understanding to her work. She spent many years in leadership and director-level positions, managing teams, operations, program performance, staff development, and complex organizational systems. This experience gives her a practical understanding of the pressures facing executives and professionals, including leadership responsibilities, difficult decisions, workplace dynamics, career transitions, and balancing professional achievement with relationships and personal well-being.

Edina integrates psychotherapy with a solution-focused and coaching-oriented approach when appropriate. She helps clients understand the emotional and relational patterns influencing their decisions while also focusing on practical change. Her work may address leadership challenges, career direction, workplace relationships, confidence, organization, boundaries, decision-making, performance pressures, and creating greater balance between professional success and personal fulfillment.

Edina is particularly attuned to the complexities of high achievement. Intelligence, determination, and hard work can lead to considerable success while coexisting with anxiety, perfectionism, self-criticism, difficulty slowing down, relationship concerns, or a persistent sense of needing to accomplish more. She helps clients understand what may be operating beneath these patterns while developing practical strategies for responding to pressure more effectively.

She also works with adults in midlife who may be reevaluating careers, relationships, family roles, identity, or long-held definitions of success. After years of building careers, raising families, caring for others, or meeting significant expectations, clients may find themselves questioning what they want from the next stage of life. Edina helps clients approach these transitions with greater clarity, flexibility, and intention.

Her therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, trauma-informed, psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, and solution-focused. She helps clients understand how earlier experiences and relationships can influence present-day behavior, relationships, responses to stress, and decision-making while translating insight into concrete strategies for change.

Edina also has extensive experience working with young adults. At Fordham University, she provides individual therapy to undergraduate and graduate students and oversees wellness and clinical services for student-athletes. She understands the academic, social, relational, and performance pressures that can accompany the transition into adulthood and early professional life.

Warmth, authenticity, and trust are central to Edina’s work. Whether working with an established executive navigating the next stage of a career, a professional balancing significant personal and professional responsibilities, or a young adult beginning to define their direction, Edina combines clinical insight, leadership experience, coaching, and practical problem-solving to help clients function more effectively, strengthen relationships, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

Take the GPG Symptom Checker

At Greenwich Psychology Group, our symptom checker helps clients track their symptoms of depression or anxiety. Taking the assessment doesn't provide a formal diagnosis, but it can help you determine what next steps you may need to take. The evaluation uses a series of questions to review the feelings and symptoms you've experienced over the past two weeks. The results will help you distinguish if professional help is the best next step.
