Meet Dr. Judith Zackson

Clinical Psychologist

Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from City University of New York
Clinical Director of Greenwich Psychology Group

Dr. Judith Zackson is a licensed clinical psychologist in CT and NY with over 20 years of clinical experience. She is the founder and clinical director of Greenwich Psychology Group. Her practice focuses on anxiety, stress management, relationship issues, career issues, and parenting issues. Dr. Zackson specializes in compulsions and addictions. As one of the best psychologists in Connecticut and New York, Dr. Zackson works with a range of clients, including children, adults, couples, parents, business leaders and corporations. Her treatment approach is solution-focused, helping clients identify and manage emotions that might be getting in the way of achieving their goals so they can live a better quality of life.

Based on her volunteering experience as a child at a local hospital and nursing home, Dr. Zackson initially decided to acquire training as an operating room nurse. She developed clinical expertise in patient care, in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology, and a deep interest in the mind-body connection. This led her to pursue a doctorate in clinical psychology, which enhanced her clinical expertise and deepened her understanding of the mind-body connection and the importance of understanding people through a biological and psychological lens.

Dr. Zackson earned her master’s degree at Columbia University and graduated with departmental honors in psychology. She completed her doctorate in clinical psychology from the Graduate Center at the City University of New York. She completed her clinical training at Columbia University Medical Center, New York University, and Kings County Hospital. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the William Alanson White Institute. Dr. Zackson has also completed specialized training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT, developed by Dr. Aaron Beck) and mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR; pioneered by Jon Kabat-Zinn of the University of Massachusetts Medical School). Dr. Zackson has completed advanced training for eating disorders, addictions and compulsions, and trauma treatment. She is also trained in transference-focused psychotherapy (based on Dr. Frank Yeoman’s work at Weil Medical College of Cornell University). Dr. Zackson was a researcher on an NIMH funded-study at Columbia University, which focused primarily on adolescents at imminent risk of developing substance abuse problems.

Today, Dr. Zackson is renowned as a leading Greenwich, CT psychologist, with an additional office in New York City.

Take the GPG Symptom Checker

At Greenwich Psychology Group, our symptom checker helps clients track their symptoms of depression or anxiety. Taking the assessment doesn't provide a formal diagnosis, but it can help you determine what next steps you may need to take. The evaluation uses a series of questions to review the feelings and symptoms you've experienced over the past two weeks. The results will help you distinguish if professional help is the best next step.
