Meet Elizabeth Crossfield

Licensed Marriage Family Therapist

Elizabeth Crossfield is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with extensive clinical experience. Elizabeth works well with adolescents, parents, and couples struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, and school-related issues. Elizabeth gets to the heart of why clients are struggling, in a space that is compassionate and secure. From the first meeting, clients begin developing the tools needed to reduce symptoms and improve their quality of life.

Elizabeth received her training at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, followed by a Clinical Graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fairfield University. She is a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). Prior to becoming a therapist, Elizabeth had a successful career in the fashion industry. These experiences gave her a unique understanding of the mind-body connection. She considers the biological, psychological, and social factors that influence how her clients feel and how those factors impact overall health.

Elizabeth specializes in working with adolescents. She understands the complexities of self-worth issues, academics, stress, sexuality, and family expectations during this critical developmental period. Such stressors can cause anxiety and depression, which affects the family as a whole. Elizabeth helps adolescents and their families understand their struggles to identify their strengths and harness their potentials.

Elizabeth is also skilled at creating tools to foster healthy communication with couples and families to increase empathy and flexibility. She helps couples move past their hurt to building stronger connections within themselves and with their partner. She encourages her clients to develop resilience using solution-focused, evidence-based treatments, and family therapy to create new pathways to change.

Elizabeth’s mission is to provide the highest quality of care. She is devoted to helping her clients attain their goals and build a life they love. She lives with and her husband and two daughters in Westport, CT.

Take the GPG Symptom Checker

At Greenwich Psychology Group, our symptom checker helps clients track their symptoms of depression or anxiety. Taking the assessment doesn't provide a formal diagnosis, but it can help you determine what next steps you may need to take. The evaluation uses a series of questions to review the feelings and symptoms you've experienced over the past two weeks. The results will help you distinguish if professional help is the best next step.
