Dr. Danielle Lacey is a clinical psychologist licensed in New York and Connecticut. She holds a graduate degree in Psychology in Education from Columbia University and a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Pace University, an APA-accredited program. Dr. Lacey completed her clinical training at Harvard Medical and Fellow at Boston School of Medicine. She has also worked in school and private practice settings and conducted research at Columbia University Medical Center’s Oncology Department, contributing to melanoma research at the Columbia University Cancer Center.
Dr. Lacey specializes in helping clients manage anxiety and depression, strengthen self-esteem and motivation, adjust to life and career transitions, and build healthier and more fulfilling relationships. Her additional areas of expertise include substance use disorders and executive functioning difficulties. Dr. Lacey uses an integrative therapeutic approach that combines evidence-based treatments with insight-oriented exploration. She provides Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and reframe negative thought patterns and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to enhance emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and mindfulness. She also incorporates psychodynamic and exploratory techniques, helping individuals uncover behavioural patterns and core beliefs rooted in early experiences that may affect relationships and well-being.
In addition, Dr. Lacey integrates principles of Positive Psychology, focusing on cultivating positive emotions, engagement, relationships, meaning, and accomplishment—the intentional habits and mindsets that foster growth, resilience, and fulfilment. Her goal is to help clients not only manage distress but also build a deeper sense of purpose and satisfaction in life.
Dr. Lacey has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and parents to address anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and family stressors. She is skilled at helping adolescents navigate academic pressure, identity development, peer challenges, and family expectations during this critical stage of growth. She collaborates closely with parents to foster balance, emotional regulation, and stronger family connections.
Her additional areas of expertise include executive functioning issues, behavioural challenges, and substance use concerns. Dr. Lacey creates developmentally appropriate and emotionally safe environments where children and teens can explore challenges, build resilience, and grow in confidence and self-awareness.
Dr. Lacey also has extensive experience providing comprehensive psychological and psychoeducational assessments to evaluate educational, behavioural, social, and emotional functioning. Her evaluations go beyond diagnosis, identifying the cognitive and emotional processes that influence a child or adolescent’s performance and well-being. She views psychological assessment as an essential extension of her clinical work—another lens that deepens her understanding of each client’s unique inner world and informs more effective, individualized treatment planning. This dual expertise in therapy and assessment allows her to approach each client with precision, empathy, and insight.
Before beginning her clinical practice, Dr. Lacey served as a career coach for several of New York City’s top software engineering programs. She implemented evidence-based methods to guide graduates in developing personal narratives, effective communication, and professional confidence, achieving a strong track record of helping individuals secure positions aligned with their goals.
This experience informs her pragmatic and results-oriented therapeutic style, giving her unique insight into workplace dynamics, career transitions, and the psychological challenges that accompany professional and personal growth. Her combined expertise in psychology and coaching allows her to help clients navigate stress, self-doubt, burnout, and the pursuit of meaningful success.
Known for her warm, collaborative style, Dr. Lacey creates a safe and supportive space where clients can reflect, gain deeper self-understanding, and develop effective coping strategies. Grounded in a biopsychosocial perspective, she considers the interplay of biological, psychological, and social factors that shape emotional health and overall well-being. Dr. Lacey’s integrative and evidence-based framework empowers clients to achieve lasting personal growth, improved relationships, and an enhanced quality of life.

At Greenwich Psychology Group, our symptom checker helps clients track their symptoms of depression or anxiety. Taking the assessment doesn't provide a formal diagnosis, but it can help you determine what next steps you may need to take. The evaluation uses a series of questions to review the feelings and symptoms you've experienced over the past two weeks. The results will help you distinguish if professional help is the best next step.
